Welcome! Eastview Secondary School is located in the northeast end of Barrie, Ontario, and has an enrollment of around 1200 students. We are the only high school in Simcoe County to offer a full orchestral program, and are home to one of Central Ontario’s leading choral programs.
We offer courses for string instruments, wind instruments, guitar, voice and music technology. We have a large orchestra and concert choir, as well as several smaller ensembles. We also try to organize an overnight field trip each year for music students, which every 2-3 years includes a larger destination. Past trips have included travel to New York City, Boston and Disney World.
If you are in grade 8 and interested in taking music at Eastview next year, our Future Students page is a great place to start.

Specializing In: Vocal Music, Music and Technology
About: Mr. Stewart received much of his musical training in his youth through his experience singing with the Toronto Children’s Chorus and through studying piano initially with his mother, and later on with Ruth Watson Henderson. He completed a degree in Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, and then chose to go into Education at Nipissing University. Upon beginning his teacher career, Mr. Stewart decided to share his passion for music with his students. He directed choral ensembles at Stayner Collegiate Institute and Bear Creek Secondary School for six years before joining the music team at Eastview. In recent years Mr. Stewart has played trumpet with the Baytowne Big Band and has sung Tenor with the Cellar Singers. He enjoys spending time with his two young daughters, and is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the music students at Eastview.
