**Please attend if at all possible - this will be a great day and I'd like Eastview to represent as strongly as possible!
Date: Saturday, October 18
Location - Hiway Church, 50 Anne St N, Barrie
Cost - Workshop is free; students wishing to attend the evening concert are $10 each
Itinerary (parents are responsible for transportation to and from the event):
3:30-5:00pm - Workshop
5:00-5:30pm - Dinner (they haven't provided details about dinner - likely just a break to go out and purchase dinner)
Students are free to use the time as they'd like between the workshop and the concert
7:30 - Concert begins - Eastview invited to join the choir for one song in the concert
To ensure we have accurate numbers, parents are asked to confirm student attendance either by email or in writing (I will send home a paper slip with the info)
It is looking like we'll be doing Montreal for our spring trip, as we don't have enough chamber choir interest to put together a proper ensemble to send to Nationals (orchestra is in a similar situation). More information will be forthcoming.
As such, we will not be putting together a chamber choir currently. We will perhaps gauge the interest later on in starting something up after the fall concert choir season ends, that would rehearse in the normal choir timeslot.
Some of you have expressed interest - it would be great to have 4-5 Eastview students! The details of the event can be found here. You must sign up by October 5, and make a full (financial) commitment by October 15.
Please note - the cost is expected to be $300 (we had hoped for lower, but recently realized we had misinterpreted the meal pricing on our quote). We also need a minimum of 34 attendees from all schools combined for the event to run, and at this point it's not clear that we're going to get there.
If you're interested, please add your name to this Google form.
